Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 28, 2026

This privacy policy explains what data getasphaltcalculator.com collects, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data. We keep it simple because our data practices are simple.

What we collect

Calculator usage

When you use any calculator on this site, the numbers you enter (length, width, thickness, price per ton, region) are processed in your browser. We do not store your calculator inputs on any server. The calculations run entirely on your device. We cannot see, save, or retrieve the numbers you type into the tool.

Contact form

If you submit a message through our contact page, we collect the information you provide: your name, email address, and message. We use this only to respond to your inquiry. We do not add you to a mailing list or share your contact information with third parties unless you explicitly ask us to.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. This collects anonymous usage data such as pages visited, time on page, device type, and approximate geographic region. It does not collect your name, email, or any personally identifiable information unless you provide it through the contact form.

We also use Microsoft Clarity, which records how pages are used: scrolling, clicks, mouse movement, and taps, aggregated into heatmaps and session replays. Replays show interaction with the page, not your identity, and we use them to find where a calculator or a guide is confusing. Clarity is not loaded for visitors who appear to be in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland. You can read Microsoft's privacy statement at privacy.microsoft.com.

Cookies

This site uses cookies for:

  • Essential cookies: required for the site to function (session handling, preferences like unit selection)
  • Analytics cookies: used by Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to track anonymous usage patterns
  • Advertising cookies: used by Google to serve ads on this site and measure ad performance

Advertising

This site displays ads served through Google Ads (including Google AdSense). Google and its advertising partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other websites, and to measure how those ads perform. This is sometimes called personalized or interest-based advertising.

We do not control the ads shown by Google, and we do not receive or store the data Google collects for ad targeting. You can review or opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings, or opt out of interest-based ads from participating vendors at aboutads.info/choices. We do not sell your personal data to advertisers.

Third-party vendors, including Google and certified ad networks, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites on the internet. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and other sites.

You can learn more about how Google processes data when you use partner sites or apps by visiting How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Consent

If you are in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, analytics and advertising storage are switched off before any Google tag runs, and stay off unless you give consent. In practice that means no analytics or advertising cookies are set for those visitors today. Microsoft Clarity is not loaded for them at all. Elsewhere, analytics and advertising cookies are set when the page loads, and you can opt out using the controls linked under Advertising and Your rights.

How we use your data

  • Calculator inputs: processed in your browser only. Never sent to us.
  • Contact form submissions: used to reply to your message. Stored in our form provider's system until we process the inquiry, then deleted.
  • Analytics data: used to understand which pages and tools are most useful so we can improve them.
  • Session recordings and heatmaps: used to see where the interface is getting in the way, so we can fix it. Not used to identify you or to build a profile.

Who we share data with

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. The only parties with access to any data are:

  • Google Analytics, which processes anonymous usage data
  • Microsoft Clarity, which processes anonymous interaction data for heatmaps and session replays
  • Our advertising provider (Google Ads / AdSense), which serves ads and may use cookies for ad personalization and measurement
  • Our form provider, which processes contact form submissions on our behalf

Your rights

You have the right to:

To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@getasphaltcalculator.com.

California and US state privacy rights (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA / CPRA) gives you the following rights. Residents of other US states with similar laws (for example Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and Utah) can use the same process below.

  • Right to know: you can ask what categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the purpose, and the categories of third parties it is disclosed to. The categories are described under "What we collect" above: identifiers you give us through the contact form, and online identifiers and usage data collected by analytics and advertising cookies.
  • Right to delete: you can ask us to delete personal information we hold about you, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Right to correct: you can ask us to correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to opt out of sale or sharing: we do not sell personal information, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. The advertising cookies set by Google may count as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law, and you can opt out of that at any time (see below).
  • Right to non-discrimination: we will not deny you service, charge you a different price, or give you a lower quality of service for exercising any of these rights.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

We do not sell personal information. To opt out of personalized advertising cookies, which is the only activity on this site that may count as sharing:

  • Turn off ad personalization in Google Ads Settings.
  • Use the Digital Advertising Alliance's WebChoices opt-out tool for participating ad vendors.
  • Turn on Global Privacy Control (GPC) in a browser or extension that supports it. This site honors GPC: when your browser sends it, we tell Google not to use your visit for personalized ads.

To make a request to know, delete, or correct, email hello@getasphaltcalculator.com with the subject "Privacy request". We will confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 days. We may need to verify your request by asking you to confirm the email address you used to contact us. You can use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, with your written permission.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to check this page periodically.
